I just stumbled upon your blog, and I have enjoyed reading through it and discovering another bug lover in Missouri. I noticed you worked for the Missouri Department Of Ag.....do you know Lee Burgess? He is helping me with a project I have been working on for the past 4 years. He has agreed to proof read an insect field guide I have nearly completed. I have not had the pleasure of meeting him in person but he is a very gracious and kind person via the phone and email conversations we have had. I would love to learn more about your field studies. My husband and I are farmers in NWMO and know full well the impact of insects on agriculture, and I know the importance of alternatives to harsh chemicals. I too have a fascination with beetles as well as flies. I spend a huge amount of time photographing them and observing them.

Most amazing blog. I will visit you site more often just to know about things which we ordinarily do not pay any attention to. In fact I will do better. I will subscribe the feed.
Keep the good work going.
Cheers!

Hey...just found your comment on my blog. Thanks for the props. I try to do what I can to make bugs interesting. I'm not aware of too many entomoblogs, but I guess I'll have to check out your blogroll as well as bug girl's.

I added you to my blogroll, by the way.

Super fantastic blog! I am really happy that I stumbled onto it via the Nature Blog Network. I'm a bit of a bug geek myself, albeit only in a fumbling amateur way.

Anyhow, your pictures are fantastic and your information is thorough. I have been attempting to identify the insects I come across and I am having trouble with one image of what I believe to be some kind of tortoise beetle, but I am positively stumped on what one. If you have a minute - please ping me back. I'd love the opportunity to send you the pic and get some feedback from an expert!

Happy end of '08 and good morning, as well.
